The world's first wormwood vodka Babicka and Karlsson's Gold Potato Vodka at www.drinkon.com

We have 2 interesting new vodkas to introduce this week. The first is Babicka, hailing from the Czech Republic, which is a wormwood vodka infused, obviously with wormwood and herbs. Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium) has long been said to have medicinal properties, and this vodka is creamy, smooth and luxurious with notes of vanilla, caramel and aniseed. Recommended as an aperitif for its digestive qualities, it's also great on the rocks or in cocktails. View Babicka Wormwood Vodka
The second is Karlssons Gold, a luxury potato vodka from Sweden. The brainchild of the father of Absolut, Borje Karlsson, Karlssons is made from the very finest virgin new potatoes and is distilled only once, preserving the rich character of it's origin and giving it a natural, balanced flavour. Aside from the smoothness of potato vodkas, they are also suitable for Coeliacs and those intolerant to gluten. View Karlssons Gold Potato Vodka

We are currently giving away a FREE T-shirt with each order of Fernet Branca, while stocks last!!* Fernet Branca was created in 1845 by Bernardino Branca, who used his secret formula infusing blossoms, rare aromatic herbs and spices. His recipe has been passed down through 5 generations, giving us the unique, complex and intense flavours of this classic Italian bitters still enjoyed all over the world today. Although usually served as a digestif, Fernet Branca can be served on the rocks, with a splash of mineral water or in cocktails such as the Dr Zeus or the Hanky Panky Martini, shown below.
*(please specify medium or large size t-shirt when ordering)
HANKY PANKY MARTINI
1 3/4 shots gin
1 3/4 shots sweet vermouth
1/8 shot Fernet Branca
METHOD: Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange zest twist. This drink was created in the early 1900s at the Savoy's American Bar for actor Charles Hawtrey. When he first tasted it, he exclaimed 'By Jove! That is the real hanky-panky!' Hence the name... Don't you love a cocktail with a story.
A long awaited welcome to our latest spirit this week: Bossa Cachaca. Cachaca is a Brazilian spirit made from sugar cane, used as the base for a Caipirinha cocktail and Bossa is a brand new arrival in the UK. It's a top quality spirit, made using only the freshest cuts of sugar cane on the south Atlantaic coast of Brazil. It is named after Bossanova, the music born in Ipanema in Rio de Janeroand the bottle design echoes the design of the sidewalk at Ipanema beach. Find a bit of Brazilian sunshine!
