LUSCIOUS LYCHEE LIQUEURS

It may be your thirst for the exotic, but we suspect the current rush on lychee liqueurs may have something to do with a certain celebrity chef’s Christmas cocktail ideas. The unique tangy and irresistible flavour of lychees has certainly been overlooked for too long, and there are many different ways to use our great range of lychee liqueurs. You can add a dash to a glass of Prosecco or any sparkling wine or champagne, or create a deliciously delicate Martini as detailed below.

LYCHEE MARTINI

2 shots Vodka

½ shot Lychee liqueur

2 shots lychee syrup from tinned fruit

Method: Stir all the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a whole lychee from a tin, pierced on a cocktail stick if preferred. This martini is rumoured to have first been made in 2001 at Clay, a Korean restaurant in New York.Recipe from the Sauceguide to Cocktails, by Simon Difford. It differs from the Nigella recipe as featured in her Christmas book in that it contains 2 shots of vodka, instead of her 1 shot vodka, 1 shot white rum recommendation.
