New at Drinkon is Benromach 10 y.o. Single Malt, made at Speyside’s smallest distillery, just outside Forres. The Benromach distillery was virtually derelict in 1993, when it was rescued and restored by malt whisky specialists Gordon & Macphail and was officially re-opened by Prince Charles in 1998. Just two distillers create the whisky, using the finest Scottish barley and pure spring water from the Romach Hills. Patiently matured for at least 10 years in high quality casks, Benromach 10 yo has rich fruit, sweet chocolate and delicate spicy armas. With a rich sherry influence, the palate shows exotic fruit flavours and toasted malt with a hint of smoke. David and Michael Urquart, of Gordon & Macphail commented: ‘We think that Benromach 10 Years Old displays a big taste from a tiny distillery and we hiope that people will enjoy our whisky as much as we do – and share the secret of Benromach with fellow whisky-lovers’ If you’re looking for an early Christmas gift, here it is!
